Son: Yes
Me: Why?
Son: Newton's 3rd law
Me: ???
Son: I believe in Evil. Hence God.
Me: !!! when do you think of God?
Son: When I need luck.
Me: Luck? why do you need luck?
Son: I read in a quote "Luck is an elevator while hard work is stairs.
        Elevator may fall anytime, but stairs don't"
Me: Then why do you need elevator. You should always trust in hard work.
Son: yeah I know. But I am trusting luck to help me better in Mathematics exam tomorrow.

I am still trying to process all the above.

Tomorrow (August 11th) is Raghav's Birthday ..
He is completing 4 years ..
And it looks like yesterday when

1. He was introduced to bloigword by his dada and he ranted that people around him arewierd..

2. He was dressed up like a girl before his mundan ..Tht was just a few days before his first birthday

3. I though life would be easy when he was terrible 3

And today he wants to join his dad as an energy engineer.. and he loves computer games. and sometimes teaches me windows shortcuts ..

Today he says he is a big boy ..



So true ..
Making the decision to have a child--It's momentous.
It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body

I relived my memories ..

1981 - 1986

Appo naanga Mysorela irundhom. So remember spending my holidays at my maternal grand parents' place in Trichy. I used tO love that Trichy house... A typical old Agraharam veedu with thinnai,railiway paltform maadhiri long hall, hall sidela chinna chinna rooms and kitchen at the end. Visits to Thiruvaanikaaval (Thiru Aaani Kaaval) also called Akilandeshwari temple used to be my favourite timepass. koyil kolathula neraya meen irukkum. adhukku pori pottundu irundha timeporadhe theriyadhu. ange oru kutti aanai irukkum.. Andhukku rice and vellam pottu periya periya urundai panni ootuvaanga.. supera irukkum paarka..

Apparam .. Mysore.. had a lot of tourist attarctions. Chamundi Hills, Brindavan Gardens, Najangud and many more ..Summer Holidaysla Chitthi, Chithappa with their kids, aththai paati , maama and family ellarum varunga.. Amma used to take them for a guided tour to all these places.. My favourite used to be Brindavan gardens and the musical fountain shows.

1987- 1993






We shifted to Chennai from Mysore. My materanl grandparents also moved in with us after selling our Trichy house. Chennaila Ayanavaramla settle aanom. Our house was quite near our maama thatha and maama's house. Their's was a joint family. Adanla eppovum jejennu kootama irukkum avanga veedu. Ennoda cousins , second cousins , third cousins ellorum iruppanga.. orey kooththu dhan.

Maama veetula rendu maanga maram irukkum. maanga adichucha veetula thittu vilum.. so periyavanga ellarum thoonginapparam maanga adippom.. Kitchenla salt and molaga podi edukka thada irundhadhu.. adhanala therumonaila oru thatha cut mango kada vechipaar.. anga poyi salt thirudindu varuvaanga.. Ellam ready panninundu out-housela poyi sema koothadippom.. Apparam .. night dinnerkku mottamaadila
ellaraiyum okkaravechchu saapadu poduvanga.. Wonderful days.

Soup panrennu maggi tastemakera hot waterla karaichu maamava kudikka vachchadu innum niyagabam irukku .. Paavam Raja maama .. he dint utter a word.. he drank the whole cup of soup..

Apparam .. amma and appa kooda neraiya oorukku poyirukkom.. ooty, madurai, Coimbatore, Thirunaveli, Tanjavore, kuttraalam, Mukkombu dam, Bombay.. We used to frequently visit Trichy to meet my grandmother's chiththi..(our great grandmother).

10th std and 12th std timela engeyum poga mudiyala .. more over we shifted to Alwarpet. so our visit frequnecy to Ayanavaram also reduced. But school friendsoda nalla enjoy panniyirukken.. Kazhudha ketta kutti sevuru maadhiri.. engalukku Boat club road and Mcrennet bakery dhan kutti sevuru.

I love dogs.. Enga veetukku pinnadi Demonty colony park irukkum.. adukku walking kootindu vara dogs ellam ennoda friends.. Doogie and Bruno were my best friends :)

1998 -2002





Golden days of my life..Wonderful college with 650-acre campus.. situated on beautiful plateau. According to amma and appa .. naan anga padichcha four yearsum enakku holidays dhan.. we never used to attend any classes..New Market, Dus Number market , Kota,Indian Coffee House (ICH), College Dam, campus temple etc etc etc
.. Romba enjoy pannen.. miss those days.. Evenings hostel maadila poyi okandhu pesa aarambichcha time poradhe theriyadhu.. And ofcourse mess table discussions were the best..

2002 - till date

(saw the craft which he had made at school this morning.. it was hash design made out of wooden ice cream spoons)

I deleted the running processess and tried to open the CD again.. Movie started palying in VLC player.. Screen was small .. so I tried to make it full screen by pressing "Alt +Enter".. I dint know that ALT+Enter combination doesnt work in VLC player. I was searching all the menu to make it full screen..

Raghav: Amma .. two times click pannu maaa... screen fulla varum

I double clicked on the screen .. and there it turned to full screen..

A baby crush on a baby Snow White!!

Raghav is in Pre-KG at one of the famous schools in Chetpet. I have been finding a lot of positive changes in him since he started going to this school. The Montessori method of teaching has brought a lot of changes in his way of thinking and learning. He speaks English quite well, though we dont prefer speaking in English at home. He is now fluent in Kannada, Tamil and English. He understands Telugu quite well. And in a few days when his grandparents would join us, he will start speaking in Telugu too.

Raghav's school encourages a lot of group activities for kids. Even in their sports day, they had many group games ensuring that each kid gets a trophy. And that was really a very good way to encourage kids participation in all the activities. They also had a annual day function for Montessori class kids. It was very well organized. we had a good time. Raghav was dressed up as a band boy in the Disney parade. All kids were dressed up as Disney characters and band boys were leading these kids on the stage.

Raghav is very fond of these Disney fairy tales. And especially snow white and seven dwarfs. And There was one girl who was dressed up as snow white in the Disney parade. Raghav was very excited to see snow white. And even till this date he gets all excited whenever he sees this girl. He doesnt know her name as she belongs to another Pre-KG section. Every time he gets a chance to see this girl before I drop him at school, he stops until this girl enters her class and then goes to his class.

Today when I was dropping him at his school, I saw that this girl was coming to school with her dad. I waved at her and said hello to her father. And here is our conversation..

Me: Hi kiddo .. Hello (to her dad)
Her dad: Hello.. which section?
Me : Bunnies .Whats her name?
Her dad: (Name withheld ;-) )
Me: She was looking very sweet in snow white dress on annual day function.
Her dad: (smiles) (and more smiles)
Me: My son Raghav keeps talking about your girl.
Her dad: (smile .. more smile)
Me: He always tells me whenever he meets her. He calls her Snow White.
Her dad: (smile , smiles and more smiles) I never knew that this would start so soon (winks)
me and her dad: LOL

And I am still laughing!!
Wonder what Raghav would do when he grows up..
And I hope to preserve this post to tell him that snow white was his first crush!!!

Raghav's Birthday!!

August 11th is my son's birthday. He turns a whopping ... 3 year old..

These three years went so fast.. amazingly fast.

Kind of sad to think that those days will never return. I am sure even if he could return them to us, he wouldn’t, because he is having a blast being the “Terrible 3?!!?!".

Needless to say though, amma is proud. Life is simple for now. I’m proud of just the fact that he’s growing up.

I cannot fool him anymore!!!!!

Raghav is already showing the symptoms that he will prove to be a good Project Manager coz he likes to paint using MS Paint and create PPTs with clip arts.

He is 2 yrs and 5 months old and he knows all the parts of a PC.

I was checking my mails and Raghav was still asleep.
Around 7 AM , he showed symptoms of waking up. So I just switched off the PC monitor.
He woke up and came running seeing me sitting near the PC. I told him that he cannot use the PC now as I have swtiched it off. He said ..
"Illa Amma.. CPU is on.."

I understood
1. I cannot fool him anymore.
2. I need to update my skill set to handle raghav

Dear GOD give me more new ideas,.. plsss
Or should I google for more HELP???

Raghav seems to be having a many traits of Calvin ..
I just wish he doesnot grow more notorious
